Common Green DarnerDragonflies, butterflies and moths exhibit nature’s flashiest fashion trends. Participate in a dragonfly survey, butterfly identification and night-time moth discovery as you investigate how these lively insects transform from eggs to ornate adults. You and fellow citizen scientists will collect information on these creatures and send it to a statewide data bank for study. Document your findings photographically, become an experienced “investigator” during naturalist-led walks and kayaking trips, and discover a region rich in natural history with a boat trip on Chautauqua Lake. Enjoy behind-the-scenes exploration of the collections of renowned naturalist Roger Tory Peterson and hear regional music and folklore around the evening campfire.
